Evaluation Summary
Company Insights
Our Place is one of the direct-to-consumer companies using a hybrid type of ceramic nonstick technology for their cookware. Like a few of their competitors, they got a lot of love on the internet for their design but also their ingredient safety claims of being PFAS-free. For a while that seemed like a big step in the right direction. But we still wanted to know what kinds of chemicals were being used to give their products this kind of performance. Unfortunately, the company is unwilling to disclose that information. That’s a big red flag for us. As a result, the company doesn’t score well on our evaluation criteria. Substantiation related to other elements of sustainability and corporate accountability are lacking and we hope to see more transparency from them in the future.
