Hain Celestial Group
Hain Celestial is a smaller conglomerate company that owns a number of brands in the food & beverage industry as well as a handful of first generation “clean” personal care product brands. Strangely, we really struggled to find any substantive information about their approach to ingredient safety in their website or in their reports. We did note that one of their brands (Avalon Organics) has a number of products that are EWG Verified, a best-in-class ingredient safety certification. Unfortunately not a majority of the products made by the brands this company owns appear to have that certification. The company provided a bit more transparency with respect to their environmental impact reduction efforts. But without more disclosure as well as a more comprehensive approach across their brands, it will be tough for this company to improve their rating.
